In the heart of Colorado’s Sawatch Range, Knapp Ranch is propelled by a vision to preserve the land, water, and wildlife in a rustic and timeless setting.
Knapp Ranch has begun the process for certification under Actively Green, a sustainable business training and certification program managed by Walking Mountains Science Center in Avon, Colorado. Actively Green is recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council and partners with Sustainable Travel International to certify sustainable practices ranging from waste and electricity use reduction, water and environmental management, and cultural and heritage resource protection. Knapp Ranch is working towards the Bronze level in 2019, with the goal of becoming the first Gold-certified business in the Vail Valley within several years. Actively Green will guide sustainable goals, policies, and actions at Knapp Ranch across the entire business, from forest management and farm operations to events, cabins, and grounds. This internationally-known standard is a benchmark for sustainable travel destinations and business around the world, and Knapp Ranch is proud to work towards achieving certification
